Security issues
When you log in to our
wireless Internet gateway with your e-mail address,
this is encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer(SSL).
Once you log in, all further communications
are passed through to the Internet without encryption. We cannot guarantee the security
of any personal information that you transmit over the wireless connection after you
log in to our network.
There is no encryption between your laptop and our wireless access point.
WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) are not supported on the public wireless
Internet service at the library. In your
wireless settings, please turn off any WEP, WPA, or similar security settings in order to connect to our
wireless service.
