Security issues

When you log in to our wireless Internet gateway with your e-mail address, this is encrypted (SSL) for protection of your personal information.

Once you log in, all further communications are passed through to the Internet without encryption. We cannot guarantee the security of any personal information that you transmit over the wireless connection after you log in to our network.

WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) is not supported on the public wireless Internet service at the library. In your wireless settings, please turn off WEP in order to connect to our wireless service.
