- This website for the California State Automobile Association (formerly CSAA) provides travel deals, excerpts from the Club magazine, information on insurance, and lots of free information on automotive topics, including emergency information. For Club members there is access to travel services such as Triptik information and travel packages.
Kayak- Comparison shop over a hundred travel sites for cheap fares and other deals on air travel, hotels, event tickets, and more.
Consumer World's Travel Page- Badly organized but has some real gems here - information on ticketing, travel destinations, air carrier regulations, travel publishers, and more.
Concierge.com- Condé Nast's gateway travel site.
Arthur Frommer's Online Budget Travel- If you love to travel cheaply, this site is the place to start. You can subscribe to a daily mailer for up-to-the-minute travel bargains. You'll also find reviews, vacation ideas, and travel tips.
Hotels and Travel on the Net- Hotels, airlines, airports, references, and services (rentals, exchanges, business travel, tours, travel agencies, etc.) There's a great collection of links to maps for each geographic site.
Expedia.com- Microsoft spinoff company provides resources for planning and booking travel.
Travelocity.com- Another gateway site for planning, reservations and discount ticketing.
Yahoo Travel- Check flight times and schedules. You can also book discount travel reservations.
Government Travel Information
- National Park Service "ParkNet"
- Maps, historical information, visitor information for all of the National Parks, National Historic Sites and National Preservation Areas. Most, if not all, of the information you need to plan your trip. Many park descriptions include links to reservation services for campgrounds, tours, or lodging.
Passports- Courtesy of the U.S. Department of State, this efficient online government service lets you download a passport application, get a list of passport office locations, and find out what else you need to get that little blue booklet.
Travel Warnings & Consular Information Sheets- Travel Warnings are issued when the State Department decides, based on all relevant information, to recommend that Americans avoid travel to a certain country. Consular Information Sheets are available for every country of the world.

Sonoma County Transportation Authority- Bike, rail, road, and transit information for Sonoma-Marin.
Bay Area Transit Information- Ferries, Buses, Trains, and more -- including Golden Gate Transit, Santa Rosa, Cloverdale, and Petaluma buses. Route maps and schedule information on all local transit services for the Bay Area, which is broadly defined to include most of Northern California. Highly recommended.
Caltrans- Information on road work, road closings, seismic retrofits, current road conditions.
