Do you want
to teach adults to read?
The Literacy Program needs you!
All of our tutors are volunteers. To become a tutor you must attend an
orientation and a training workshop.
For more information, including orientation dates and times, call our office at (707) 544-2622
or email us at literacy@sonoma.lib.ca.us.
The training and books are free.
Both student and tutor will work together for a minimum of six months for 2-4 hours per week.
What qualifications do I need to become a tutor?
- Tutors must be at least 18 years old, speak English and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Previous tutoring experience is not required. We provide training and ongoing support.
