Loans and Loan Limits

PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to establish clear and consistent loan periods and limits for the circulation of items.

POLICY

The Sonoma County Library establishes loan periods and a limit on the number of items a person may have checked out at one time to make the Library’s collection as accessible as possible while meeting customer needs.  The Library also strives to establish loan periods that are simple to understand and easy to remember.

REGULATIONS

• Loan Periods
1. All items are to be circulated for a loan period of 21 days.
   
   
• Loan Limits
  1. A card holder may have 30 items checked out at one time
  2. Of those 30 items, no more than 10 may be DVDs.
     
     
• Renewals
1. A patron may renew an item twice if there are no requests on the item.
