Details:
Got the urge to write? You're invited to attend an event, at the Central Branch on Third & E Streets in Santa Rosa, to launch National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in which aspiring writers attempt to complete a 50,000 word novel in thirty days. Veteran NaNoWriMo participant and municipal laison Debbie Koehler will explain the program.

Write-Ins will be held every Monday night, from 5:00 to 8:30pm in November at the Central Library and on various days and times at the Healdsburg, Rincon Valley, Petaluma, and Sebastopol branches. Details are in the library-wide event calendar.

Several of the Libraries will make space, time, and coffee available to writers as they sprint through their literary efforts.

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and the Sonoma County Library’s Central Branch is scheduling Write-Ins every Monday evening in November. The NaNoWriMo challenge is to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Writers can visit the NaNoWriMo website for details or to sign up for the challenge.

For write-ins the library offers wireless connectivity for laptops but writers wishing to use their laptops should come with a charged battery. There will be a librarian on site to assist in finding research materials and answering questions.




Library write-ins will also take place at the following branches:

  • Healdsburg: Mondays, 5:00 - 8:30pm

  • Rincon Valley: Mondays 10:00am – 12:30pm

  • Petaluma: Tuesdays 6:00 – 8:30pm

  • Sebastopol: Schedule varies, please see the branch events calendar.
