  • Art Show: The Poems of Emily Dickinson
    • Wednesday, March 13 – Saturday, March 23, Windsor Regional Library
      Show hours 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays
      Friends of the Windsor Library are hosting an art show featuring art inspired by Emily Dickinson.

  • The Bilingual Belle / La Bella BilingüeBelle
    • Wednesday, March 13 at 7 p.m., Healdsburg Regional Library
    • Wednesday, March 27 at 7 p.m., Petaluma Regional Library
      Nora Wilkins, Professor at Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College, will lead a book discussion in English and Spanish on the life and works of Emily Dickinson.
      Una discusión bilingüe en español e ingles sobre la vida y la poesía de Emily Dickinson, con la profesora Nora Wilkins.

  • The Enigma of Amherst: Nineteenth Century woman / Twentieth Century poet
    • Thursday, March 14 at 2 p.m., Guerneville Regional Library
      Following the Brown Bag Book Club discussion a "symposium" (using the Greek definition of a gathering for convivial conversation), moderated by Sonoma County poet Pat Nolan, will be held to discuss the uniqueness of Dickinson's poetry and the influence of her work on subsequent generations of American woman poets.

  • Feel the Surge! Book discussions featuring past Sonoma County Poet Laureates
  • Movie: The Belle of Amherst
    • Saturday, March 23 at 2 p.m., Guerneville Regional Library
      See the original "Belle of Amherst" - Julie Harris - in her award-winning role as Emily Dickinson in William Luce's play. This is the PBS produced video that won numerous awards. There is no fee; the event will be held in the Forum Room.

Book Discussions

Read the book, then come to a book discussion at your choice of library. Copies of the book will be available at each branch.
